The Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung (BAM) is a materials research organization in Germany. Our mission is to ensure safety in technology and chemistry. Your responsibilities include:

Doctoral candidate within the V5041 project (Department 5.4) in cooperation with Department 1.2

Interdisciplinary collaboration with other project and department staff to ensure coordinated implementation
Production of various ceramic nanoparticles, e.g. using solvo-thermal synthesis in cooperation with the Biophotonics Department and surface modification
Structural analysis and optical spectroscopic characterization of nanoparticles in cooperation with the Department of Biophotonics
Production of photo-crosslinkable feedstocks for light-based additive manufacturing (AM) processes such as digital light processing (DLP) and two-photon polymerization (2PP)
Participation in the implementation of the digitization project in project V5041
Preparation of doctoral thesis
Supervision of students

Your qualifications:

Successfully completed university degree (master's/diploma) in chemical engineering or materials science
Experience in nanoparticle synthesis and surface modification and the characterization of these nanomaterials
Experience in additive manufacturing, ideally with light-based AM processes such as DLP and 2PP, is an advantage
Experience with the ceramic process chain, slurry production, shaping, and sintering is an advantage
Affinity for digital tools and data processing
Very good German and English skills
Good communication and information skills, goal-oriented and structured way of working, initiative/commitment and ability to work independently, team spirit and willingness to cooperate, as well as willingness to learn
